Citizen Science

What is Citizen Science?

Citizen science is the use of volunteers or amateur scientists to conduct scientific research. The idea is to use public participation to contribute data that will help advance research and public knowledge.

Another example of a project that uses citizen science methods is BumblebeeWatch.org. Scientists use images submitted by users to understand where different species are located. With this data, they can then improve current conservation efforts and create any needed new ones in different regions.
